I’ve always loved medieval history. Perhaps it’s the fact that my middle name is Knight. Perhaps it’s the fact that my dad collects swords. Perhaps it’s just in my blood—my ancestry includes people like Robert the Bruce and Mary, Queen of Scotts.
But whatever the reason, medieval history and fantasy have always held a special place in my heart.
So, when New World Viking asked me to help redesign their ecommerce site, I was more than happy to help. It was a great opportunity to dig back into Norse mythology and learn more about the history of the Vikings.
After thoroughly researching the Vikings and NWV’s target market, I put together a website design that simultaneously combined modern and ancient influences while providing an intuitive user experience.
Before settling on this final design, I went through more than a dozen different iterations to find the right look and feel. Once the design was finished, I worked with NWV to update their product descriptions to match the tone of their new site design, giving them a fun, but bold voice and flavor.
The new design has received a very positive reception from customers and critics alike. New World Viking has already experienced an increase in sales due to their new site experience and loves the overall look and feel of the site.
